While reviewing some of the stats to this blog, I had noticed that someone had visited a post from the first week of Lent.Curious to read what they had read, I visited that same post. The post was written shortly after the airstrikes against ISIS in Syria.It was during those Airstrikes that American humanitarian Kayla Mueller, who was being held hostage by ISIS, was killed. A prayer:
your own Son was delivered into the hands of the wicked,
yet he prayed for his persecutors
and overcame hatred with the blood of the Cross.
Relive the sufferings of the innocent victims of war;
grant them peace of mind, healing of body,
and a renewed faith in your protection and care.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
“We are heartbroken to share that we’ve received confirmation that Kayla Jean Mueller has lost her life,” her parents said in a statement Tuesday. “Kayla was a compassionate and devoted humanitarian. She dedicated the whole of her young life to helping those in need of freedom, justice, and peace.”
