Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven
.
Many times people can call themselves Christian and follow Christianity through the popular celebrations of the day. Christmas is celebrated through the marketing of advertising executives, Lent is remembered for Mardi Gras revelry, and Easter is the season of the chocolate Easter bunny. Jesus knew how beliefs could be distorted through culture or interpreted as to cause the least amount of friction. Jesus warns his disciples everyone who calls themselves faithful will not reap the rewards. It takes more than a statement of words, it takes a faithful adherence to Jesus and his teachings. In other words actions speak louder than words.Acting on Christs gospel is the foundation of the faithfuls lives, it is not mere window dressing.Action too takes knowledge of that gospel message, and knowledge of that message takes effort.”Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.”
