“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son,so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life.”: That’s the epiphany of the transfiguration, there was no need for prophets or kings. Thse three apostles saw the relationship between God and man in its proper order, even if only for an instant. Moses and Elijah had their place in the Old Testament, yet there is no need for prophets in this New Testament. It was in the previous chapter that Jesus asked Peter “who do you think I am”, his response was the messiah. Here on the mountain Peter gets the glimpse of who the messiah is.Now begins the procession towards Golgotha.
